Food & Drink, Guide,

Whether you’re always plant-based or just looking for a healthy alternative, these vegan spots are sure to satisfy.

Avo

Avo offers a vibrant menu of plant-based dishes with a focus on raw and organic ingredients—many of which are locally sourced. Their eclectic menu includes cauliflower wings with a mix of sauces and flavors, pesto primavera with pistachio walnut pesto, roasted vegetables and sundried tomato and raw pad Thai served cold, plus a lentil walnut burger that has to be tasted to be believed! 4 City Blvd. #104, Avo

Succulent Vegan Tacos

As Nashville’s first plant-based taqueria, Succulent Vegan Tacos has become a favorite with both the vegan crowd and the carnivores alike. The Nashville Farmers Market-based stand offers all the favorites—al pastor, Tinga, asada and more—without the meat. And because no meal is complete without a side, be sure to order a side of Esquites. This Mexican corn with mayo, lime and Tajin is so good you’ll want to go back for seconds. 900 Rosa L Parks Blvd., Succulent Vegan Tacos

Graze Nashville

This East Nashville bistro offers plant-based burgers, a vegan take on hot chicken (with tempeh) and killer BBQ jackfruit sandwiches. Don’t sleep on their brunch, either. Their blueberry pancakes (which are also gluten free) are divine, and their seitan bacon, “egg” and cheese biscuit will make you forget you ever needed the real thing. 1888 Eastland Ave., Graze Nashville

Sunflower Cafe

This cozy cafe serves up vegan and vegetarian fare, including wraps, salads, soups and daily specials made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. And check out their sister restaurant in Donelson, Sunflower Bakehouse, which is stocked with everything from over-the-top cupcakes to mouthwatering blueberry muffins–almost all of which are gluten free. 2834 Azalea Place, Sunflower Cafe

Copper Branch

This downtown dining destination offers a well-rounded mix of plant-based fare, including the mouthwatering Galaxy Burger, oven-roasted portobello mushroom zucchini, caramelized onions, provolone cheeze, lettuce and garlic aioli. Not looking for a handheld option? Order one of their hearty bowls like the General Copper Bowl with General Tao, broccoli, avocado, brown rice, sesame seeds, sriracha coleslaw and General Tao sauce. Vegan soups, sides, smoothies and gluten-free options are also available—plus their all-day breakfast sandwiches should not be missed! 601 Church St., Copper Branch

The Southern V

If you're craving vegan comfort food, look no further than The Southern V. From crispy fried "chicken" to savory mac and cheese, they offer all the Southern classics without any animal products. 200 Buchanan St., Ste. 104, The Southern V

The BE Hive

A vegan heaven in the middle of East Nashville, the BE Hive is both a deli and a market. Stop in for a made-to-order sandwich like The Grinder with BE Hive pepperoni and deli slices, kale, marinara, peppers and onions, oil and vinegar and Giard mayo on a baguette, or try one of their crave-worthy Fried Chxn sandwiches—available in Nashville hot and Buffalo, to boot. Or pick up some vegan meats like Gyro slices, breakfast sausage, pastrami, turkey and so much more. Don’t forget to grab a vegan milkshake on your way out! 2414 Gallatin Ave., The BE Hive
