Trisha Yearwood is using her voice for good. On March 26, she’ll headline Band As One Nashville: A Concert for the Cure at the Ryman Auditorium, supporting Susan G. Komen. With a star-studded lineup—including Lainey Wilson, Sheryl Crow and Keith Urban—this event is set to make an impact. As she prepares to release her deeply personal songwriting album, kicking off with a seven-city tour, Yearwood continues to turn her passion into purpose.

How did you get involved with Susan G. Komen®?

My girlfriends and I started participating in the 3-day, 60-mile walks all over the county in 2007. It was an incredible experience. Our virtual coach for our first 3-day walk was a young woman in her 20s with terminal breast cancer. It hit me hard. In 2011, when I walked in San Diego, I had just lost my mother, Gwen, to breast cancer. We’ve all been touched by this disease.

What makes this concert experience so special?

I love projects that raise awareness for such an important cause, and music is a great way to get that message out to folks. While I know that there are those who are more likely to get breast cancer because of genetics, I also know this disease doesn’t discriminate. It’s just too common. I’m excited and appreciative of all the artists who agreed to do the show with me. And it’s at one of the most historic venues in the world, the Ryman Auditorium, which is an amazing place to play and to see a show.

What can you share about the show’s all-star lineup?

I really love when people come together for something important. I think what’s most unique about Nashville is that we have so many artists from all genres in this town, so when there’s an event like this, you have the opportunity to bring a lot of different music together. Where else can you see Lainey Wilson, Sheryl Crow, and Kristin Chenoweth in the same building? Music City has always come together when called, and this is no exception. I love being part of this community.
