Food & Drink, Guides,

Every day is a great day for an amazing burger, so we asked our editors across the country to tell us where to find the juiciest, most flavorful, drippin-with-sauce burger in their city.

Atlanta - Marcel

1170 Howell Mill Road / Website

They call it “The Reserve Burger.” Ever heard of it? Well, now you have. Not to be confused with their late-night cheeseburger, Marcel's Reserve Burger is a rare, dinner-only treat with fewer than 10 available each night. The one-pound patty is made from 28-day dry-aged ribeye and chuck, topped with Gruyere and served on a sesame seed brioche bun from a local bakery, Alon’s. The pièce de résistance, though, is hollowed-out bone filled with roasted marrow for slathering on the burger. Save some room for more great burgers from another spot on Atlanta’s full list.

Chicago - The Loyalist

177 N. Ada St. / Website

The Loyalist masterfully executes comfort food favorites, and the neighborhood eatery’s burgers are no exception. Visitors can sample The Loyalist’s original burger, crafted from Slagel Family Farm beef and topped with pickled and charred onions, house pickles, onion mayo and a sesame onion bun. The restaurant’s burger offerings are paired with delectable double-fried, hand-cut fries with sides of garlic-chili mayo and pickle juice. Chicago burgers can actually be quite famous, so be sure to check the rest of the spots on the city’s full list.

Hamptons - Boom Burger

Boom Burger packs a punch with its extensive menu featuring hot wings, fresh salads and a handful of appetizers, including french fries, onion rings, fried pickle spears and more. You can start by building your burger with however many patties and choose from the wide array of toppings they offer. Or, if you are feeling adventurous, try one of their custom-made burgers like The Fat Tony, which has a base of six American Cheese Burgers and comes with a Jumbo Milkshake. Make the summer even more delicious with a visit to one of the other top burger spots on the Hamptons’ full list.

Los Angeles - The Apple Pan

10801 W Pico Blvd. / Website

At this iconic LA diner, you’ll come for the pies. But leave room in your belly so that you have space for dessert and a cheeseburger from dinner. Choose between the Steakburger and Hickoryburger, both offering double patty and double cheese options. That’s just scratching the surface though, because LA boasts 21 amazing burger spots on its full list.

Miami - Skinny Louie

322 NW 24th St. / Website

Skinny Louie is the man, the myth and the legend behind Wynwood's first smash'd burger joint. Some might know him as the Smash King, rightfully so because he's crafted an original smash burger recipe from the gods, made of 100% fresh black angus beef and complemented by thin and crispy fries. Think larger and you can make your smash burger a double or a triple, and pair it with a milkshake while you're at it. Smash even more of the top-tier burgers on Miami’s full list.

NYC - Minetta Tavern

113 MacDougal St. / 212.475.3850 / Website

When we think of the best burgers in NYC, our mind immediately goes to the Black Label burger at Minetta Tavern. Some will argue that the Minetta burger is better than the Black Label burger, but they are simply wrong. The patty is made of a selection of prime dry-aged beef cuts and topped with a heaping serving of melt-in-your-mouth caramelized onions. And can we take a moment of silence for the french fries? They are everything we are looking for in a fry and more— greasy, crunchy, salty, and oh-so-amazing. Of course, you’ve got options in the city that never sleeps, so be sure to check the rest of the burgers on NYC’s full list.

Palm Beach - Maxwell’s Plum

12300 S Shore Blvd., Wellington / Website

Maxwell’s Plum was once a bustling singles bar and restaurant on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, catering to upper echelon folks on the scene. Now its legacy carries on in Florida’s horse and polo community of Wellington, under the tenured ownership of Jennifer Oz LeRoy. Back in the day one would order a mighty good cheeseburger at the New York original, which laid the groundwork for the current Maxwell’s Burger—eight ounces of wagyu beef topped with candied bacon, caramelized onion, smoked gouda and the chef’s special sauce, with the option to add cheese of your choosing. Indulge in more over-the-top bites with a visit to one of the other burger spots on Palm Beach’s full list.

Philadelphia - Fado Irish Pub

1500 Locust St. / Website

Founded in 1996, Fado Irish Pub was a product of Irish immigrants creating a cultural outlet from home to America. Situated near The Kimmel Center and Academy of Music, the original pub is in the heart of Philly. Additional locations include Chicago, Atlanta, Washington DC, Columbus and more. The City of Brotherly Love loves a good burger, so be sure to check out the other spots on Philly’s full list.
