Pancakes are a breakfast staple for good reason. From healthy to decadent, these are our top picks for the best stacks in Nashville (both adult and kid approved!).
Pancake Pantry

A Nashville classic in Hillsboro Village since 1961, the Pancake Pantry is known for their family recipes and decadent toppings. Both locations (there is a newer SoBro outpost in the Hyatt Centric) offer the infamous stacks, syrups and compotes that are made in-house each morning. The menu offers lots of non-carby breakfast options, too.

Buttermilk Ranch
A fan favorite in 12 South, this hot spot is known for, you guessed it, classic buttermilk pancakes. Four hours is not an unheard of wait time so we recommend joining the waitlist online. The bakery counter serves pastries and coffee to go so you can wander the ‘hood while you wait for a table in the pretty dining room. 2407 12th Ave. S
Roze Pony
This sister location to East Nashville’s Cafe Roze brings the same airy, hip vibe to Belle Meade with all-day dining. They also bring you only one pancake option, and trust us, these soufflé stacks are the only option you need. Even young, picky eaters have been known to devour them. 5133 Harding Pike
Soho House
Available to members and their guests, breakfast any day of the week at Soho House is a treat. Their pancake offering is a menu staple at all the houses we’ve been to–a generously stacked pile of buttermilk stacks with homemade blueberry compote. 500 Houston St.
Skyblue Cafe
Are you team pancakes or team French toast? Sweet or savory? At this beloved neighborhood joint in East Nashville, you don’t have to choose. Skyblue offers decadent options for pancakes and French toast along with innovative combinations that combine the two, like scrambled eggs and Colby cheese or banana and Nutella-stuffed French toast pancakes. This is out-of-the-box comfort food at its finest. 700 Fatherland Street
Big Bad Breakfast
Brought to you by James Beard Award-winning chef, John Concurrence, BBB is a culinary love letter to the most important meal of the day. Inspired by his family and upbringing, the goal of his breakfast menu is to provide the literal heart-warming fuel for the day. The focus is on ingredients and process and the result is multiple locations around the South offering a wide range of staples where not surprisingly, pancakes are a thing of mastery. We predict you will make a return trip, or a few. 5304 Charlotte Ave. & 1201 Liberty Pike, Ste. 101, Franklin
Herban Market
Inspired by the European lifestyle habit of shopping small and fresh for ingredients you will use in the next day or two, this bustling spot is a community hub for the health-conscious folks around Franklin. They only source from local, organic farms, and the gluten-free banana pancakes taste even more delicious than their wholesome ingredients suggest. 3078 Maddux Way Ste 300, Franklin
Frankies 925 Spuntino
The Nashville location Italian-American restaurant follows the lead of its original Brooklyn location by offering simple, elegant fare with the highest quality ingredients. Weekend brunch features a large, indulgent pancake topped with roasted fruit and Ricotta and a drizzle of their own Frankie’s 457 olive oil. 925 Cherokee Ave.
SweetMilk
This is pitmaster Pat Martin’s homage to his grandmother, Nonie Sue Martin, who cooked a traditional, Southern breakfast for her family every day. Aptly named after the Southern cooking staple she always used, Sweetmilk offers three types of pancakes–buttermilk, sweet potato and blueberry. Preserves and toppings are seasonal, offering another nod to slowing down and honoring tradition. 329 Donelson Pike
The Loveless Cafe
While it may be most famous for its country ham and hot biscuits, plus all the famous people who love it, this historic Highway 100 pitstop also offers mouthwatering pancakes that are worth the trip. Served with The Loveless Cafe maple syrup and your choice of chocolate chips or pecans, we suggest asking for a side of their homemade preserves to add into the mix. 8400, TN-100
