The Antiques & Garden Show of Nashville, a haven of timeless treasures and stunning designs, celebrates 35 years of creativity and community. To mark the milestone, we chatted with this year’s guests, singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow and interior visionary April Tomlin, and event director Amy Albright for a behind-the-scenes peek.
Sheryl Crow
What excites you most about this year’s Antiques & Garden Show of Nashville?
Sheryl Crow: I love the Antiques & Garden Show! It usually falls right around my birthday, and I never miss it. I am notorious for buying way too many amazing things and then creatively trying to find a place to put them. It is a sickness! This year, I’m excited to share my aesthetic with show fans and pick up tips from people I admire.
April Tomlin: I am excited that I was considered to speak at this year’s show. Apart from that, I love early shopping. I always have a hefty client list that I am searching for, and it is great to have so many vendors I shop throughout the year all in one place. I have been lucky to build fantastic relationships with vendors at the A&G show over the years. Two years ago, I bought a long piece of art. The seller and I developed such a good rapport that he was kind (and trusting) enough to let my husband borrow his SUV to transport it back to our house. A&G brings together an impressive community of vendors, and I love supporting and learning from them.

What can guests look forward to at this year’s 35th anniversary show?
Amy Albright: We plan to honor the first chairs of the A&G Show, Connie Cigarran and the late Sigourney Cheek. The gardens are going to be spectacular! The Cheekwood entry garden will have an exciting new element, and we plan to highlight the Show’s amazing and long history, which got us to where we are today.
“The future of the Show is bright and full of many possibilities, but the main mission of raising funds for Cheekwood and ECON Charities will continue to be the driving force for all we do.”–AMY ALBRIGHT
How do you feel your aesthetic aligns with the Antiques & Garden Show of Nashville?
AT: On first impression, you might not think my work is synonymous with antiques. Looking more closely, you will see that even the more simplistic and raw designs are sprinkled with antiques, especially antique art, lamps, lighting, decor and accent chairs. Our design and the way we incorporate antiques show that mixing the old with the new can still look fresh while allowing a newer design to feel more timeless and collected. When I recently moved into a new home and displayed my collection throughout the house, it immediately felt warm, homey and engaging. I am also a huge proponent of incorporating antiques into design because it reduces our footprint, and frankly, they just don’t make things like they used to!
Where do you envision the future of the Antiques & Garden Show of Nashville heading?
AA: Over the past 35 years, the Antiques & Garden Show has built a legacy of bringing together beauty and design in an impactful way. We can continue to develop and grow on that foundation while creating a Show each year that has something for everyone. I am proud to be part of an organization whose mission is to raise funds for two deserving local charities and meaningfully give back to the Nashville community. The future of the Show is bright and full of many possibilities, but the main mission of raising funds for Cheekwood and ECON Charities will continue to be the driving force for all we do.
